    Mindful Eating - Happy Life

    Working in a medical organization is both stressful and time consuming, as such it can result in chronic stress and negative behaviour especially when it comes to food. As a result, inattention to oneself leads to weight loss or excess weight gain.

    The Happy EAT program is based on the development of the three fundamental skills of mindful eating through self-awareness:

    1. ENJOY: How to develop your multifaceted personality and enjoy more than just food

    2. ASSESS: How to mindfully pilot your emotions and adjust the physiological and energetic processes of the body

    3. TASTE: How to create symphonies of taste, take pleasure in your favorite foods while expanding your social connections.

Challenges

    • Case :

      New nursing team to be created in a reputable oncology clinic with high standards of care.

    • What was done:

      We provided four days of intensive team training based on the "Process Communication Model® and the effective interpersonal communications in a healthcare environment". By using a PCM® Inventory questionnaire individual personality structure reports were generated. We worked individually with each member of the team to help them find their motivational triggers and learn how to meet their needs positively. The program included intensive practical exercises and role-playing games. The nursing team mastered conflict resolution techniques, self reflection and self regulation tools.

    New nursing team to be created in a reputable oncology clinic with high standards of care.

    Outcomes:

    We received highly positive feedback from the participants and executive management. They noticed an increase of synergy and motivation within the team. Nurses witnessed an improvement in every day communication with staff members as well as with their patients.

    • Case :

      Ward nurse, with 5+ years of clinical experience, complains of being overweight, lack of sleep, feeling of guilt, helplessness and anxiety about patients.

    • What was done:

      We helped her with Individual coaching sessions. The emotional regulatuion and relaxation techniques were included in our one to one program. We proposed a customised nutritional plan, considering her work schedule and food preferences.

    Ward nurse, with 5+ years of clinical experience, complains of being overweight, lack of sleep, feeling of guilt, helplessness and anxiety about patients.

    Outcomes:

    After two months of coaching, she was able to normalise her sleep, reorganise her work schedule, introduce healthy eating habits. This resulted in the desired weight reduction, emotional regulation and the ability to consciously face a stressful environment.

    • Case :

      An executive director, with 20+ years of health care management experience, starting in a new position and workplace. He complains of an increased feeling of fatigue, anxiety, frequent mood swings, fear of not being able to cope and social isolation.

    • What was done:

      We provided individual counseling. As an entry point to better understand his personality structure we applied PCM® Inventory, identified behavioral patterns under stress. Step by step, together we built positive management attitude and effective interpersonal relationships. We also provided tools to pilot difficult emotions and helped to introduce mindfulness and self-compassion practices in his every day activities.

    An executive director, with 20+ years of health care management experience, starting in a new position and workplace. He complains of an increased feeling of fatigue, anxiety, frequent mood swings, fear of not being able to cope and social isolation.

    Outcomes:

    Self-awareness and self-regulation were achieved. He was able to reorgaise his work shedule, revise priorities, normalise sleep, restore social contacts, as well as plan a team training for his management staff.

    • Case :

      Young surgeon with extensive clinical experience worked in the "red zone" during the pandemic. When he returns to his former department, he experienced an acute sense of disappointment, a feeling of lack of the job recognition, loss of interest in his work, aggressive behavior with his team and family members, alcohol and tobacco abuse, weight loss.

    • What was done:

      We provided an individual support for 6 months together with a psychologist. Based on his PCM Inventory report we worked together on self-regulation, self-compassion, emotional assertiveness, positive satisfaction of psychological needs in professional and personal environment.

    Young surgeon with extensive clinical experience worked in the "red zone" during the pandemic. When he returns to his former department, he experienced an acute sense of disappointment, a feeling of lack of the job recognition, loss of interest in his work, aggressive behavior with his team and family members, alcohol and tobacco abuse, weight loss.

    Outcomes:

    He was able to achieve a normal sleep schedule, aquire healthy eating behaviors, progressively returned to the practice of sport. He was also able to better regulate difficult emotions, by introducing mindfulness and self-compassion practices into the daily activities.

    • Case :

      The managment of the dental clinic noticed a decrease of medical activities in the last quater, there was a high staff turn over, and increase of patients' complains were recorded.

    • What was done:

      We carried out individual interviews with staff and clients to determine the root causes. We reviewed relevant organizational processes as well as patients’ journey and experience. As result three areas of service improvement were identified, inorder to redesign patients’ journey, improve patients’ experience and strengthen positive interpersonal communication within the team.

    The managment of the dental clinic noticed a decrease of medical activities in the last quater, there was a high staff turn over, and increase of patients' complains were recorded.

    Outcomes:

    After one month managment noticed an improvement in communication between team members and their patients. Patients expressed satisfaction and rapid access to care. Chatbots using designed scripts were introduced, which increased the number of appointments for initial consultations.
